Inspiring Message from Benevolent Committee
To our USATF Southern Association Family
We, the Benevolent Committee of USATF Southern Association, realize that
times are hard right now, as we go through this season of COVID-19 as well
as other situations we may be dealing with in our families, on our jobs, & in
our communities, not to mention all of the uncertainties surrounding our
track & field season. Be encouraged, knowing that the Lord is in full control
& it is He who will keep our minds & our hearts in perfect Peace. Always
remember that we are here for you & your respective families. Do not
hesitate to reach out to us for prayer, consolation, etc. Perhaps, you just
need a listening ear.
Here is a Universal Prayer for all of us:
Dear God, give us your Peace, as the Apostle Paul said to the Philippian
church, which is available to all of those who place their trust & belief in you!
You are the sovereign ruler, the mover of mountains, and the victor of
impossible victories. You are Lord over earthquakes & storms, over nations
in turmoil & terrorist plots, & over starving children. You speckled the sky
with stars & set the earth spinning like a top. You own everything & you
control everything. Your hand allows each mind to think & teaches each
heart to beat. There is nothing you cannot do. Therefore, we pray, that you
would give us your PEACE. God, comfort all of us, as we deal with sickness
& even death. God, help us we pray. Bring justice to the downtrodden &
hope to the hopeless. Give us joy in the place of sorrow and give us hope
for tomorrow. Guide all those in positions of power—whether that power is
political, physical, or social & give them wisdom to use their power wisely.
Give them, & all of us, the grace to admit when we are wrong & to seek
forgiveness. God, give us the grace to forgive. We love you Lord & we will
forever trust you & the Power of your Promise that you will never leave us,
nor forsake us.
Amen!
